Chinese Zodiac Blind Box

Inspired by the collectable blind box toys from Pop Mart, I designed small figures based on the 12 Chinese zodiacs. Each figure has a design unique to their zodiac animal counterpart, appearing as human characters wearing animal costumes. A separate display item compliments the series, designed for true collection maniacs and completes the series visually.

I referenced many existing blind box figures, focusing mainly on designs that are:

Box Design





   


  • Chinese characters come from my name: 汝(ru) 美(mei)
  • Reminiscent of red packets given to children during Chinese New Year
  • Sketch style rather than full renders adds a more playful feeling




Wheel Display






  • Made for display of the entire Zodiac series, but is also able to display most other blind box toys
  • Backs include illustrations of each zodiac
  • Wheel is designed to spin without flipping over the platforms
